De Falco Vini ‘s is a story of great passion and family tradition.

It all began in the postwar period with grandfather Gabriele moving to Salento to run a winery where he raised his three sons among grapes and wine. At only 16 years old, the eldest son Angelo took over the reins of the business and became the winery owner’s trusted man.

After a few years, he moved to Naples to manage the parent company, but this reality is now too narrow for him and he decides to strike out on his own. Together with his brothers, he opened his own production and marketing facility in Salento to sell wine throughout Italy. Soon the need arose to have an office in Naples where most of its clients are located. So he returned to Naples and opened a warehouse in San Sebastiano al Vesuvio.

We are in the 75s/80s begins the Neapolitan rise of Angelo De Falco, who becomes a primary reference in the Neapolitan wine scene especially in the marketing of bulk wine. Times change the work grows and into the business enters just 18-year-old son Gabriele who senses that the future of the industry is in quality wine production and bottling.

So in 1990 De Falco Vini was born with a new factory equipped for grape processing and bottling in San Sebastiano al Vesuvio, where the company is still based today. This was the beginning of a long journey that would lead De Falco wines to become one of the leading producers in Campania.

COMPANY PHILOSOPHY

Those who live and work on the slopes of the world’s most famous volcano, Mount Vesuvius, confidentially call it “a’ mountain.”

With my sons, Angelo and Giuliano, joining the company, a new path of qualitative research of wines began, from the countryside to the winery, with the aim of making the wonderful products of this little corner of Paradise called Vesuvius known to the world.

A few years ago we decided to initiate a new project that would start from choosing the most suitable soils, selecting the best grapes, choosing the best exposures to taking almost maniacal care of the crops. After years of experimentation in the countryside, the Vesuvio Doc line was born, four products of the highest quality, the result of stubbornness and the desire to give back to those who drink our wines all the wonderful sensations that our territory can offer.

The goal of our mission is to maximize the qualities of our territory, which has no equal in the world, and to make known the great potential of the wines of our volcano.

The vineyards of the varietals of the Vesuvio Doc line are cultivated on soils of volcanic nature and have, therefore, in the marked minerality and flavor their primary characteristic; soils rich in potassium and phosphorus that give these wines unique sensations.

Working and qualifying the wines of our volcano has meant restoring value and dignity to an area that over the years seemed destined for abandonment, and of this, of course, we are very proud.

We have focused production essentially on the most characteristic varietals of our territory: two whites, Falanghina Fiordilava Doc and Ikon Lacryma Christi Doc Superiore, and two reds Pietranera Piedirosso Doc and Lahar Lacryma Christi Doc Superiore to share with those who love particular wines that are never banal.
